Our beginnings date back to 1934, and we are still pursuing our vision with passion today. In 90 years, we have developed into a global player, making everyday life easier for people all over the world with our internationally successful core brand Dr. Beckmann, as well as our own and other brands. As a medium-sized family business, we are owner-managed – and have been for four generations. Experience the highlights of our colourful company history in this high-speed introduction.
Under one roof: With our new appearance as Dr. Beckmann Group, we are uniting delta pronatura GmbH with its domestic and foreign subsidiaries – and continuing along our path of international growth.
New leadership: Nils Beckmann, son of Heiner Beckmann, takes over the management of our company as CEO in a newly installed four-member management board together with Marco Buschmeier, Michael Klingel and Jan Zimpelmann. He is thus the sole active family representative of the founding family in the fourth generation. New Advisory Board: With the newly established four-member Advisory Board, consisting of Andreas Ronken, Ingrid Heisserer, Benjamin Ferreau and Asmus Wolff, our new Management Board also has an advisory body that brings a wide range of expertise to the table.
Fresh look: We are redesigning the logo and packaging of our core brand Dr. Beckmann – visually demonstrating that we are a future-oriented company with an instinct for current trends.
An innovation makes a splash: with our lightweight Magic Leaves detergent sheets, we are venturing into the high-volume detergent market and offering consumers an innovative, convenient and more sustainable solution for their laundry.


News from Bolton: Our British joint venture proves our clear commitment to the British market and the achievements of our employees in Bolton: ACDOCO, the British distribution company founded in 1995, and ACDOPRO, the manufacturing company, are now wholly-owned subsidiaries of delta pronatura.
Et voilà: The founding of our subsidiary delta pronatura France S.A.S. in Bordeaux strengthens our proximity to the French market, where we have been represented as a distribution partner since 2008.
On board: Nils Beckmann joins the management team as a representative of the family’s fourth generation. This ensures our continued existence as an independent family business. Unchecked: With the acquisition of Jacobi Pharma-Service in Heppenheim, we are able to meet the increasing demand for our Bullrich salt in a more targeted manner. The company, founded in 1994 as a two-man operation, has been producing the tablets in a specially constructed plant since 2001. The growing market for the contract-manufactured homeopathic pills has increased the number of employees to more than two dozen.
From north to south: our new subsidiary in Mexico City now supplies the whole of Latin America with Dr. Beckmann products. Another milestone in our company's history!
Grüezi from Switzerland: With the founding of the distribution company delta pronatura AG Switzerland in Muttenz, Basel-Landschaft, we are expanding our reach in Europe.
Expansion to the Far East: Our long-standing activities in the Middle and Far East lead to the founding of our subsidiary in Nanjing, China. What an honour! We receive the Hessian Export Award for our more than 35 years of continuous international activities. The “clear strategy and objective” with which we “have developed an individual success story from many small components” were the deciding factors for our award in the category Innovative Export Strategies.


75 years of delta pronatura: We celebrate the success of delta pronatura and the outstanding commitment of our employees with a colourful festival.
Dr. Beckmann in Poland: With the founding of our joint venture Werner & Mertz Delta Polska in Warsaw, we gain a foothold in another neighbouring European country.
Relocation to Egelsbach: In Neu-Isenburg, our three production sites have reached capacity. We are building a completely new production facility in Egelsbach, relocating with the entire company – and have remained there to this day.
Vertical take-off in Austria: Shortly after the founding of our subsidiary delta pronatura Handels GmbH, Vienna, the sales figures for our Dr. Beckmann products increase rapidly.


Crossing the pond: With the newly founded Delta Carbona, we now officially have a subsidiary in the USA. A real highlight in our now 60-year company history.
Strong brand: We introduce Dr. Beckmann household cleaners for the kitchen and bathroom and develop Dr. Beckmann into an umbrella brand for all laundry and household products.
Looking to the future: With the acquisition of ProNatura GmbH, we become delta pronatura and focus on the development of more environmentally friendly products.
Globally established: We introduce our umbrella brand Dr. Beckmann, which initially includes all laundry products. The unique packaging design and the striking lettering in the blue oval accelerate our rise to the level of international brand.
Not just out of the blue: We invent Dr. Beckmann's Stain Remover salt, which removes dirt using oxygen and makes laundry clean again. The background is a new ban on phosphates in detergents, due to concerns about algae in lakes and rivers. On course for expansion: European interest in our Stain Remover and the Dr. Beckmann brand is growing. Our distribution partner Piresma has made Finland the first non-German-speaking export country. The TahraSuola FläckSalt is quickly becoming a hit. Activities abroad in Italy and the Netherlands will follow. A Berlin original: We acquire the cult brand Bullrich, invented in Berlin in 1827. This therapeutic product for stomach problems and heartburn is one of the oldest German brands, which we will gradually expand with new products to become a health brand.


Visionary: Heiner Beckmann, a pharmacist and son of Dr. Klaus Beckmann, joins the management team and is already convinced that speciality products can conquer the world market.
On everyone's lips: We take over the German distribution of the successful US lip care brand Blistex and achieve another milestone in our company's history.
Powerful women: With the acquisition of the Offenbacher Stain Devils from Baumbach-Chemie, we enter the market for washing, cleaning and polishing agents – and are now called Delta-Chemie. End of an era: after 37 years at the helm, Gerhard Krauss retires. He hands over the management to his son Dr. Theo Krauss and son-in-law Dr. Klaus Beckmann.
Change of location: further expansion means that we soon outgrow our premises in Frankfurt: We move production and sales to Neu-Isenburg.


D as in Delta: The DDD Laboratory and Sales becomes the new company Delta-Vertrieb – with the Greek letter Delta as a reference to the classical humanist education of the owners and the original brand DDD.
Family reinforcement: Dr. Theo Krauss, a pharmacist and son of founder Gerhard Krauss, joins the management team.
Relocation to Hesse: The blockade by the Soviet occupying forces makes it impossible to distribute from the western sector of Berlin. We find an alternative location on the Main River, which later becomes our company headquarters – first in a disused bunker in Offenbach, then in a new building in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen.
A lifetime commitment: Dr. Klaus Beckmann, a pharmacist, marries Dorle Krauss, Gerhard Krauss's eldest daughter, and joins the company's management. Saved: We secure the raw materials for the production of DDD skin ointment, which were rationed during the war. Fortunately, production can continue.
Our roots: Gerhard Krauss takes over Schäfer's pharmacy in Berlin and with it the production and distribution of DDD skin balm – an invention of the American dermatologist Dr. Davies Dennis.
