As early as 1982, when lakes and rivers were being polluted by phosphates in laundry detergents, we developed phosphate-free stain remover. To this day, we help customers around the world care for their homes, fabrics, and appliances over the long term so they can enjoy them for longer.
As a values-driven family business, we act with foresight and are mindful of our responsibilities. As we continue on our path of international growth, we reaffirm our clear commitment to further advancing and deepening our dedication to sustainability.
Our Commitment: Our Holistic Approach to Sustainability
It is part of our corporate identity to comprehensively and responsibly integrate ecological (environmental policy), economic, and social aspects into our actions. In doing so, we are guided by a holistic approach to sustainability, which we intend to embed throughout the entire value chain in the future. The specific goals and measures we are already pursuing to improve our environmental performance are as follows:
- Packaging is an important part of our ongoing development. That is why we are working to use packaging materials in a way that meets our needs and to promote material recycling. About 85% of the paper packaging in the cardboard category used at our Egelsbach site is made from recycled raw materials. In addition, our Dr. Beckmann MAGIC LEAVES® laundry and cleaning sheets use up to 80% less plastic compared to conventional liquid alternatives.
- When developing our products, we pay close attention to the careful selection of ingredients and components, as well as to high effectiveness. As a result, many Dr. Beckmann laundry products are effective even at low washing temperatures.
- Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for suppliers in the areas of environmental protection, social responsibility, and ethical conduct.
- On the roofs of our production sites in Egelsbach and Bolton, we generate renewable energy using over 8,000 m² of photovoltaic panels. In addition, our Egelsbach site uses 100% green electricity.

Our Social Commitment: Taking Responsibility for the People in Our Community
As a company, we are involved in social projects and initiatives in our local communities at various sites:
- At our Egelsbach site, we support LernOrt Birkenhof e.V. The organisation teaches people of all ages about agriculture and sustainable lifestyles.
- Our team in Manchester (UK) regularly takes part in local social activities, supporting the organisations Forever Manchester and the Salford Foundation.
- As part of various staff initiatives, we have, amongst other things, collected food for the Interfaith Food Pantry Network in the USA. We have also supported the planting of trees to reforest damaged woodland areas in Hesse.

At the Dr. Beckmann Group, quality and product safety requirements form an important framework for the development, manufacture and testing of our products.
- We carefully select raw materials and components and implement defined quality requirements throughout our processes.
- Our products are tested prior to market launch and as part of established quality processes.
- When developing our products, we focus on consumer requirements and the intended areas of application.
- Our certifications, including IFS HPC, DIN EN ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and GMP, as well as regular audits by regulatory authorities, notified bodies and customers, form an important framework for the continuous review and further development of our quality, environmental and product safety management systems.
